Skincare is Selfcare

Since I’ve been staying home more than ever now, naturally I haven’t been putting on much makeup. Although, if I am attending a Zoom meeting or running to the store, I just apply some tinted moisturizer, cream blush and mascara. I know I’m not alone here in making this shift because in recent weeks, for the first time ever, skincare sales have surpassed makeup sales. During the “Safer at Home” order, I have refocused on trying new skincare products and truly taking the time to assess, cleanse, nourish and restore my skin and decolletage. As a self-proclaimed “product junkie”, I have tried everything from department store and drugstore products to ones found exclusively at aestheticians. Below are the cleansers and moisturizers I have found myself turning back to time and time again [...]

Giving a Little TLC from GTD

By |2020-04-27T13:10:45-07:00April 27th, 2020|Categories: Uncategorized|

As the Safer at Home Order continues, the stress of staying home and not leading a normal life has been a bit taxing. It seems like it has been forever since I shared a hug (and a cocktail) with friends and clients! Spring is in full swing here in Los Angeles and during this time of renewal and rebirth it's hard to look at the same four walls around our homes! However, the safety of the community and my loved ones is most important and I am grateful every day for my health and the ability to live in such a beautiful area. Getting into the mindset of spring, we could all use a little retail therapy. However with the malls closed and constant shipping delays, I have been busy creating a [...]

How To Look Stylish And Still Be Comfortable

By |2020-03-18T11:35:58-07:00March 18th, 2020|Categories: Uncategorized|

Enjoy being in your comfort zone? The comfort zone I’m referring to is a “clothing comfort zone”. It’s something we’re all guilty of... never bothering to change after your workout or saying “I’m only running to the market” and before you know it, 5 pm rolls around and you’re still in your Lululemons. Clients tell me all the time they want to get back to wearing all the amazing clothes in their closet. It can be hard to get out of your comfort zone and start “shopping your closet” again. If you fall back on your comfy stretchy pants too long, you don’t get to wear the nice clothes you paid for, they end up becoming outdated or unfashionable and even the resale stores won’t take them. It’s a waste of money [...]

By |2020-02-28T10:32:27-08:00February 28th, 2020|Categories: Uncategorized|

As I get older, I see more fine lines appearing and have to do my hair color more often, but all things considered, I’m easing into my new comfort zone taking it all in stride. I am very thankful to have picked up good habits that have kept me looking and feeling young! We all know the benefits of working out regularly, following a balanced diet, staying hydrated and let’s not forget about getting a good night’s sleep! As we age, adhering to a healthy lifestyle is just the first step of being fit and fierce over 50! Okay, those of you aren’t quite there yet may be thinking “I’m young, 50 is a long way away”, but take my advice and seize the day now! I have had too many friends come [...]

Feeling uninspired when looking into your closet? Perhaps you have given up hope of ever getting it organized! Let 2020 be the year you reclaim your space and finally tackle the closets in your home. Last year I installed Elfa shelving from the Container Store throughout my client's new home. Upon moving in, this made a world of difference in their day to day lives. GTD works with the specialists at the Container Store to create the closet you want and deserve. We are teaming up with The Container Store to offer a complete package. After assessing your needs, we will manage the design, coordinate the installation of your Elfa solution, along with a review of your clothing and accessories, followed by the organization of your closets and wardrobe. All GTD packages are up to 20% [...]

The Fall and Winter Fashion Edit – Splurge vs. Save Edition

By |2019-11-14T09:30:55-08:00November 14th, 2019|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: |

I have always loved the change of seasons, being raised on the East Coast your wardrobe can change abruptly as the weather. Here in Los Angeles it’s a bit more difficult to know exactly what to keep in our closets and what to store until next season. To be honest if it weren’t for the stores already putting holiday decorations up a month ahead of time, based on our weather we would have no clue Christmas was just around the corner! Lately, it has felt hotter than the summer we experienced! So with the days and nights finally starting to cool down, it’s a great time to take inventory of your clothes, perhaps donate or resell what may not fit or be fashionable. Below are my recommendations for shopping the best in fall and [...]

With 47 million Americans age 65 and older, we are responsible for helping our seniors to navigate the aging process successfully. There are many ways we can help our family member, friend or neighbor live a fully engaged life, and many times we can help them to stay where they are the most comfortable; in their own home. According to a recent Harvard Study, only 3.5% of homes are outfitted to accommodate senior living. Features such as wider hallways, no-step entryways and single story living can help our loved ones stay in their own home for a longer time. Below are my tips for helping a loved one or even yourself age with grace and dignity: Home is where the heart is We all wake up with new aches and pains as we [...]

The Best Travel Skincare Tips

By |2019-08-05T09:18:18-07:00August 5th, 2019|Categories: Uncategorized|

It is inevitable that when you travel your skin will decide to go haywire. With the dry air in the plane, foreign foods and jet lag this combination of environmental attacks is a lot for your skin to take. To feel and look your best while you are away (hello Instagram worthy vacation photos!) I have some simple tips to prepare and maintain your skin’s balance. Stay Hydrated - “Typically, skin is comfortable when the humidity is between 40 to 70 percent,” says Melissa Kanchanapoomi Levin, a clinical instructor in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. “Most airplane cabins are at about 20 percent. That’s less than half of what we are used to,” she says. (Allure 2016). My favorite product to combat dry airplane air is a non-scented moisturizer or [...]
